Do You Think Like A Psychopath?

Read this question, come up with an answer. This is not a trick question.

It is as it reads. No one I know so far has got it right.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought the man was amazing. She believed him to be her dream hero so much so that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question:
What is her motive for killing her sister?

Give this some thought before you look at the answer below.

Answer:
She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again.

If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This supposedly was a test by a famous American Psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer.

Several arrested serial killers were given test and answered the question correctly.
If you didn’t answer the question correctly, good for you. If you did,admit it, and look for a good doctor.

  5. That’s completely retarded. It’s a simple pattern-recognition test. One funeral (death) causes an event, the woman causes another death in an attempt to cause the same event.

    If anything, this just proves that serial killers are good at seeing patterns.

    this is one of the most simple lateral thinking puzzle I’ve ever seen… well if it can even be considered one but it you want more stuff like this try and find a game called crack the case, or a book called perplexing lateral thinking puzzles both have a lot of complex questions (a lot more difficult than this one) and crack the case is very fun as long as you don’t play it against a Private investigator…

  23. I just deducted that the man was most likely the Care Taker or someone related to the process of the dead. So that would be why she killed her sister because it was the only way not to go to him without seeming obvious. So where dose that leave me? Now I would never kill my sister just to meet a guy, I would have started with my Co-workers first.

    why?

  28. that answer makes no sense! if the guy left the funeral, why in the hell would he go back in?! irrational. thats what it is. also, wjhy the hell would she kill her sister? rage? sorrow that she didnt get his jhumber? its fucking stupid and this question makes no sense, other than that psychopaths have a ridiculous logic. and you must be dumb to answer that right, because that probably the answer that makes the least sense.

    the logic is she met a guy at the funeral and didnt get his number
    than she killed her sister
    the ‘correct answer’
    is that she killed her sister so she could go to the funeral and that the same guy that was at her mothers funeral would be at her sisters
    its basic pattern comprehension
    if you want to emulate a result (in this case the woman meeting up with the guy)
    you have to emulate the cause (death/funeral)
    if you dont get that… than i think its you who is truely the phsycopath not those of us who can recognize a basic pattern

    if you click the ‘read about it’ link it shows psycopaths dont always think about killing
    and that the only reason people would jump to the conclusion that she killed her sister to see him again is specificly because it says she killed her sister
    if it really wanted to prove someone was a stereotypical “psychopath” it would have left out the part about her killing her sister and just asked: What do you think she will do to meet this man again?
    and the stereotypical psychopath would answer kill someone else because the stereotypical psychopath beleives in killing to get their way and think others think the same way when in reality all psychopaths think pretty much exactly to “normal” people in just about all cases and many psychopaths are a lot smarter than normal people (ie: ted bundy, charles manson, etc)

  43. I understand why… the average person would thing “What could the sister have done to cause her to drive the woman to kill her, and how is this guy related?”

    A sociopath would think “In what way would the sister’s death benefit the woman, and how would the man be involved”

    To the average person, killing a sibling would require motivation to overcome the bond, to a sociopath, there is no bond to overcome and people are there to be used.

It was obvious that if a death brought the two together in the first place that in order to bring that feeling of love she got from him that someone else she was close to had to die. In order to answer the question you had to think and feel how she did about the guy to know that that is why she did it. Sort of like a crime of passion if you must.

  49. At least one person before me mentioned that they thought the sister was in a relationship with the man. Explaining the “had never met before” part? I reasoned that she and her sister were not on good terms and thus she would not know about her sister’s bf/husband/widower.

  53. I would not take this test very seriously, I got it right though within a few seconds.

    My first thought was that she killed her sister because the guy was nuts, second was that she didn’t kill her than I though: wait, he just disappeared from her life and this is about psychos, so maybe it’s to reattract him. :P

    Then again, this is stupid! How can you say you think like a psycho by just answering a simple and insane question—isn’t that a little stereotypical? Oh well, it’s etertainment, so I shall not nag no more… :P

    I thought things would go like this:
    The mother died, the two sister attended the funeral.
    Both sisters were sad, but one became happy after she met the man. She was shocked the other girl was sad, and coúldn’t cope with it.
    The solution is simple: you make the unregularity go away, so there would no longer be a sad sister.

    I appearantly think too complicated.
